GOLF NEWS

Wednesday 28th December 2011 at Wike Ridge

Hope you all had a good xmas and are ready for another years bad golfing. This year’s first event took place at a rather blustery Leeds Golf Centre. It was the same old result as Armitaaaarge took his first event of the crusade by a shot from Steve Morgan (lets keep it in the family). In third place came the Onion just down by another point.

Can I remind everybody that this years golf memberships are now being collected by Chris and are ten pounds. You will not be able to play unless you pay.

Usual rules apply with handicaps. If you have an official club handicap you will revert back to that for the start of the season if not look on web site for your Marsh Lib handicap. Also keep a check on the web site for any up and coming events.

Cheers Geedo

off 12 and Player B playing off 24 – Player B would receive 9 shots off holes 1 to 9 stroke index.
 In the event of a tie after 18 holes, play down the 1st then carry on until someone wins the next hole.
 Play off Marsh Lib handicaps.
 The player who is first out of the hat shall decide on which course to play on and that course shall be in a 20 mile
    radius of Marsh Lib.
 If any green fees are payable then they shall be split 50-50.
 There will be a draw made before and after every round (first draw to made after a golf society event late March
    early April)
 There will be a deadline for every round and every effort should be made to complete on time.

PAIRS KNOCKOUT

Rules

I hope to run a pairs competition this summer. There will be a change in format. First choose your own pairing. The competition will be off full Marsh Lib handicaps and will be the Stableford format of the game. The best score of each pair being the one to count, with the added bonus of both scores counting on the last par 3 hole of the course being played. In the event of a tie, the team who had the best score on the last par 3 would go through. If that is also tied, then we will go to the back nine, back six, back 3, in the unlikely event you’re still tied, may I suggest the toss of a coin.

There will be strict deadlines for games to be played, although I anticipate that each round will be given at least 4 to 5 weeks minimum. But my advice is, don’t leave it until the last week to make contact with your opponents. In the unlikely event that a game is not played for whatever reason or you have trouble organising a game, then you must inform me and my decision will be final as to whom, if anyone goes through to the next round. This also applies for the singles.(It might help if you’re a Town fan)

This competition will only be run if we get a reasonable amount of entries.

Hopefully there will be prizes to be won for the finalists.

The entry fee will be both, for the pairs and the singles, £2.50 per person.

The green fees as always to be split 4 ways.
